Mireille works with community groups fighting fossil fuel infrastructure and waste facilities across Massachusetts, facilitates the Fix the Grid campaign to overhaul the regional electric grid, and helps manage the overall operations of Slingshot. Before Slingshot, Mireille was the Western Massachusetts Community Organizer then the Energy Justice Director at Community Action Works. She helped stop a proposed biomass facility in an environmental justice community in Springfield, MA, aided in securing supplemental review of a waste processing plant in New Bedford, MA, and catalyzed the formation of a community group in Peabody, MA to stop a new gas power plant. Mireille’s first taste of organizing around energy systems was fighting a solar tax in California in 2020, which led to the Sacramento Municipal Utility District being the first utility in the US to declare a climate emergency. Mireille holds a BS in Biology from Stanford University.
